With more than 30 years of film making experience, Rajan continues to focus on feature films and 360 degree immersive installations. He has won a National Award and 30 International awards. Now based in Mumbai, he practiced filmmaking in London from 1990 to 2005.

His permanent film & holography installation Birsa Munda (2021) is a tribute to 19th Century tribal uprising against the British. Among high-lights of feature film projects is his well-known directorial venture Gattu (2012). It won Best Film at Berlin Film Festival and twenty other international awards including Best Director and Best Actor.

Rajan came into limelight with his feature film Dance Of The Wind (1997), a co-production between six countries that sold and distributed worldwide, it premiered at Venice and won awards at Rotterdam, Chicago, London, and Nantes.

His half-hour film “Bodh-Vriksha” (Wisdom Tree) garnered him a National Award and three Oberhausen Awards. An alumnus of the Royal College of Arts, London, FTII Pune, and NID Ahmedabad, he is a voting member of BAFTA Awards.

Rajan is founder of Elephant Eye Productions Pvt. Ltd. that, apart from producing feature films, creates immersive story experiences with multiple projections.
